The 'K' sound at the start-

The word will start with K if there is an e or i as the second letter:

The word will start with C if there is an a, o, u or consonant as the second letter:

The 'K' sound at the end-

The K sound at the end will be spelled with 'ck' if there is a short vowel before it

Pick, brick, stick
